An Ideal Friend

Friends can be classified into two kinds, good friends and evil friends. Evil friends lead us astray and may destroy our life, while good ones drive us towards the right and make our life successful.

Two of them exist in our daily life. However, ideal friends exist in people's mind. They should be diligent, successful and loyal. When you need help, they will stand beside you and be delighted to give you a hand. Also you can share your happiness and sorrow together.

In my opinion, friends can share something but they also should keep their own secrets. So I wish my friends wouldn't interfere in my privacy too much. On the other hand, my friends should have something in common with me, at the same time something special. In this way we can attract each other and learn from each other.

The Importance of English

The importance of English rests with the language being used in most countries in the world as a communicating tool. For example, a German and a Chinese can't speak opposite side's language, but they both know English. And then there is no problem between their language communication. We must know the importance and learn the language earnestly.

The key to learn English well is to recite words. Words are the bricks of language building. Only keeping them in our mind, can we master them. To learn English well, we need to listen to more English broadcast and contact with more foreigners so that we can practice our listening comprehension. Only in this way, can we study for the purpose of application

Travel

Travel is a very good means of broadening a person's perspective. It makes you come into contact with different cultures，meet people of different colors and go through peculiar rites and ceremonies. Travelling much，you will not only enrich your knowledge and experiences，but also be aware of the vastness of nature.

Travel may also relieve person of boredom and gloom. Travel brings you enjoyment and attraction. It gives you a pleasant experience，which will disperse your boredom and make you forget whatever annoys you. Travel broadens your mind and leaves you good memories. Later，you may go over these memories and enjoy your past experiences，thus keeping a fresh and sunny mind.

A Letter to Victims in Yushu during the Earthquake

Dear victims,

On the 14 of May in 2010, an incredible and unknown earthquake suddenly happened inYushu,Qinghaiprovince. Almost half ofChinawas affected. It was a huge calamity to Chinese people.

Until now, there are nearly 50 thousand people who died in this earthquake and more people injured. Many people lost their relatives and fell into the deep sorrow. And they also lost their homes and hometowns. A large number of buildings were damaged. What’s more, many children and students lost their lives because of the collapse of schools. And their parents who suffer from this big calamity can’t accept the fact until now.

All of the Chinese people begin to act and do everything they can when they hear the news. Almost every one of us contributes a great number of money and goods which people inQinghaineed. As students, we don’t have enough money to donate, but we should do all that we could do. What’s more important, we consider that we can helpQinghaipeople rebuilt and their home and live happily.

Studying Abroad

Studying abroad in recent years, studying abroad has been popular. More and more students leave their own country to go abroad for their further education. They say that they can develop better with advanced facilities and teaching methods in those modern schools. By communicating with foreign students or staying a long time with them, a profitable experience is available to them. By the time they come back home, they are supposed to have a great advantage over the students at home in many ways. I quite agree with what they say. But one fact I’d like to remind them of is that quite a number of overseas students stay abroad disappointed as they can’t obtain what they hope for, let alone success. When they are abroad, they are helpless and have to be independent, which is quite contrary to what it is at home. They lack independence; they can’t even tell right and wrong apart, and as a result some of them even commit crimes. Therefore, whether it is good or not to study abroad depends on the individual. So take more factors into careful consideration.

The Conservation of Historic Sites

Historic sites are the precious wealth which our ancestors leave to us. It is our responsibility to protect all these sites without any excuse.

But now, the situation is worse than our imagine. For example, the developers continually to destroy to get more profits; some visitors have the bad habit of curving and drawing something on the old buildings.

Basing on the worsening situation, what should we do for the culture wealth? First and foremost, the government should make a complete law to regulate the behavior of people. Second, all of us must deepen the understanding of the importance of the conservation.

Hereby, we call for everybody to go into action to do something before it’s disappear, or our offspring will get nothing but regret.

Olympic Flame

Now the 26th Centennial World Olympic Games are in full swing in Altanda. The Olympic flame is burning red and bright in the torch at the center of the Olympic square. Earlier before the official opening of the games it had been relayed one by one through the hands of runners, among them, students supported by the Chinese hope project. Thousands of people lined the struts to watch the relay.

The relay of the Olympic Flame is the symbol of the continuity between the ancient and modern Games. During the ancient Olympics a sacred flame burned at the altar of Zeus. A modern version of the flame was adopted for the Berlin Games in 1936, and the tradition has been observed ever since. The torch used to kindle the flame is first lit by the sun's rays atOlympiainGreece, and then carried to the site of the Games by relays of runners. Ships and planes are used when necessary.

The runners are specially chosen, All of them are hard working and as a result become overachievers. The flame kindles the fire in everyone's heart to encourage people to go on and on and bring the Olympic spirit into full play.

The advantages and Disadvantages of Surfing the Internet

With the development of computer technology, the internet has become more and more popular.

Opinions are divided on whether students should surf the internet after class. Some students regard it as a great helper, the main reasons for this are listed as follows, first you can surf the internet for any information you need in a short time without working hard in the library; besides it is convenient to communicate with others by using the internet.

However, other students think that there are some disadvantages of the internet because there is also some information that's not good for the students. In addition, spending too much time playing games online will not only have a bad affect on study but also do harm to our health.

Therefore，we should make proper use of the internet. It is of great importance for us to separate good plans from wild weeze.

Wildlife Protection

As is often read in the newspaper reports, wild life especially the rare species is threatened with extinction. Human beings are making attempts to hunt wild animals for a big profit., which, of course, results in a sharp decrease in the number of animals. So it is high time for us to take quick action to protect them. First of all, it＇s quite necessary for every citizen to realize the importance of animal protection. Only by knowing its importance can people develop a sense of responsibility. People will surely take it for granted to have the duty to prevent any killing of wild animals. So a national publicity campaign should be launched, thus giving animals a good living environment. In addition, the government should pass some laws to forbid any hunting of rare animals. We don＇t expect anything harmful to wild life to happen again.

If everyone is involved in the protection of wild life, we＇re sure man will be a good friend of animals rather than their enemy.

Music is a special gift

Do you like music? Does music make you happy? The right music makes you feel good.

As is known to all, you can drown your sorrow in music when you’re unhappy. Music can comfort you and make you happy. So there is much pleasure in listening to music. Besides, music attaches great help to improving your study efficiency, which is because music is more than just sound. It’s a way of thinking. When you listen to music, you’re becoming better thinkers too. Furthermore, it is music that makes you get familiar with colorful cultures and broadens your horizons. In addition, there is no doubt that when you’re appreciating English songs, you can develop your English listening skills at the same time.

As far as I’m concerned, music is a magical thing which can free us from sadness. As the proverb says, music is a special gift.

Ms.Li,ourEnglish_teacher,_must_have_found_it_strange_on_Teachers'_Day:_she_did_not_receive_a_single_greeting_card_from_us_students.She_would_have_never_thought_a_complete_surprise was waiting for her.

As Teachers' Day was approaching, our class decided to hold a party to celebrate the important day for a change this year. On the afternoon of September 10, some of us decorated our classroom with paper flowers and balloons, and others went to buy cakes, drinks and fruits. The blackboard was decorated with beautiful words, which read “Happy Teachers' Day！Entering the classroom, Ms. Li was surprised to find we were standing in line, clapping hands and saying loudly “Happy Teachers' Day！” Wang Hua, our monitor, presented her with the prepared flowers. Some of the girls sang songs for Ms. Li, and three boys showed their Gongfu talent. Before we left, we enjoyed a new English song by Ms. Li.

Ms. Li spent a wonderful time with us, but we know that we cannot thank her enough for all her hard work and guidance.

This_morning,_when I was walking on the street, I saw that two travelers were reading a map, looking puzzled. It seemed they were lost. I went up to them and asked how I could help. They told me they were looking for theTempleofHeaven. I led them to the nearby bus stop and advised them to take Bus No. 20, which could take them there directly. They appreciated my help greatly. Before long, the bus came. We waved goodbye to each other. Seeing them on the bus, I felt a kind of satisfaction.

In our daily life, almost anybody may lose something, which is quite common. What we lost sometimes can be returned in different ways and if so, the feeling is rather impressive. Among the things that I lost and regained, I will never forget the event about my good friend, a dog called Xiaohei. It was five years ago when I was in a junior middle school that Xiaohei and I went out by bus. When I got to the destination, Xiaohei was not in my sight. Perhaps he got down the bus at a stop by mistake. Immediately looking for him was the whole thing I did but it was a pity. That afternoon I cried a lot and I thought I would never see him again. Then a week passing, when I got up to go to school, I heard a familiar sound. Outside the door stood my dog, mud all over his body. I could not help sobbing at that moment. Only from that moment on, have I understood the deep feeling of

empathy.

Three years ago I failed an important exam in my life and became a student in an ordinary school. Disappointed as I felt at the shabby campus and the poorly－equipped classroom, I found the teachers patient and considerate. Besides, I enjoyed the friendly atmosphere in class. I decided to make the best of it. I worked hard and got along well with my teachers and classmates. Whenever I had difficulties, they were always available. Soon, I became one of the top students in my class, which greatly increased my confidence and got me motivated.

My experience tells me that it is not what you are given but how you make use of it that determines who you are.

Conflicts_with_others_are_common_in_everyday_life. During the basketball game yesterday afternoon, Su Hua and Li Jiang bumped into each other, trying to catch the ball. Then they started shouting and yelling, and it turned into a horrible quarrel. To be honest, it was Su's fault but Li was also to blame— they were not calm enough and both said some really mean things. They cared too much about winning and losing. As a matter of fact, blocking, pushing and bumping are just part of a tough game.

To avoid such conflicts, we should be kind to one another, which is essential to enjoying a harmonious life. It is also a virtue to forgive and forget, especially in such a competitive and stressful society. Instead of blaming each other, we should communicate more and put ourselves in others' place.Don't be self－centered and try to be considerate. We must learn to handle conflicts calmly and wisely.

If you can come, I suggest we have a look at the Museum of the Traditional Opera near the theater after the opera.
